About Kirstie

A little luxury for your four-legged friends

Kirstie's K9 Club is a small, personal dog care service run from my home in Nazeing, surrounded by open fields and woodland on the edge of Epping Forest.

I have always had a great love of dogs. I have been a dog owner my entire adult life, and they have always been a huge part of our family. My aim is to provide a real home from home, with plenty of love, attention, playtime and cuddles, so owners have peace of mind knowing their dogs are cared for as if they were my own.

I keep numbers deliberately small, so every dog gets real attention, a proper routine and plenty of time on the sofa, as well as running around in the garden or walking in the fields nearby. It suits dogs who love a calm home as much as a good run.

Meet Nuala

Nuala is my 10 year old Irish Water Spaniel and the leader of the pack. She loves other dogs' company and welcomes them to join her for days of fun here in Nazeing.

FAQs

Good questions to ask

How many dogs do you look after at once?

Only a few, so it stays calm and every dog gets attention. I have up to 4 dogs in daycare or boarding at a time, plus Nuala, my spaniel.

Where will my dog sleep?

All dogs sleep indoors, snuggled up as part of the household. I want your dog to sleep in whatever way they like, so they feel relaxed, safe and at home.

There are plenty of comfy beds and other places to sleep here, but feel free to bring a bed or blanket from home if you think your pup would prefer it.

Which dogs can you accept?

To keep the home happy, safe and calm, I am unable to accept:

  • Large dogs
  • Female dogs in season
  • Unneutered male dogs over 12 months old
  • Very excitable or very young puppies
Are dogs walked off lead?

Only with your written permission and once I know your dog has a reliable recall. Otherwise I always use a long line so they can still explore.

I will talk to you about your dog's daily walking needs. My family team, all experienced dog owners and lovers, are always on hand to walk with me.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes. Dogs must be up to date with their core vaccinations and flea and worming treatment. I will ask to see the vaccination record when you book.

How will I hear how my dog is doing?

I always send photos and updates by WhatsApp or text, so you can see them enjoying their stay.

What should I bring?

Your dog's usual food for the whole stay, any medication, and their lead and harness. I have plenty of snuggly beds, blankets, toys and treats here, but do bring anything special you think your dog would like to have with them.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can, especially for school holidays and Christmas. Spaces are deliberately limited to 4, so it's best to book well in advance.

Is a deposit required to secure my booking?

Daycare is paid in full at the time of booking, and I'll confirm as soon as payment is received.

Home boarding of more than one day needs a £100 deposit to reserve your dates. Your booking is confirmed once the deposit is received.

Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking, or for a no show. Thank you for understanding; it helps me make sure there are places available for your dogs.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Kirstie's K9 Club holds a 4★ higher standards licence from Epping Forest District Council (licence number LN/000007600) and is fully insured with Pet Business Insurance.

Documents are displayed at the property and available on request.

What happens if my dog is unwell?

I will contact you straight away, then your emergency contact if I can't reach you. My local vet is Forest Veterinary Centre in Epping, just a few minutes away should an emergency arise.

I have also completed First Aid for Pets training, including CPR, and hold certification for it.

Still have a question?

Send me a message and I'll get back to you, usually within a day.
